Great beyond all question is the formerly hidden truth underlying our faith:

He was manifested physically
    and proved righteous spiritually,
seen by angels
    and proclaimed among the nations,
trusted throughout the world
and raised up in glory to heaven.
Haiku Response

Anointed:
Preacher, healer, liberator.

Joshua 1:9

Joshua 1:9
This is My command: be strong and courageous. Never be afraid or discouraged because I am your God, the Eternal One, and I will remain with you wherever you go.
Haiku Response

be not afraid
while destruction rains on all
an impossible task
Note: I think this is one of those times where we need to not be literalists.  When fear and discouragement grip our hearts, it is not a failing.  It is human.  God does not expect us to be anything but human.  God does expect that we grow in our trust of God.  That means holding courage and fear hand-in-hand and living into the command to love one another.

May the Eternal repay you for your sacrifices and reward you richly for what you have done. It is under the wings of Israel’s God, the Eternal One, that you have sought shelter.
Bible translation: The Voice

Haiku Response

works of mercy
create human connections
and are pleasing to God

Note: This is about the good work that Ruth does to support and protect Naomi.

The thief comes only to steal
and slaughter and destroy.
I came that you might have life
and have it to the fullest.

John 14:6
I am the path, the truth, and the energy of life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.  (The Voice)
Haiku Response

waves of energy
oscillating through us
contain truth and life
Note:  This is one of the I AM statements from Jesus that ties him to YHWH (I AM).  Also, these are never the same after learning there are no indefinite articles in Greek.  "The" holds the weight of emphasis but not exclusion as "a" vs. "the" holds.  I am a path, a truth, and an energy of life is also a possibility.

Psalm 34:4
Proclaim with me the greatness of Adonai; let us exalt God's name together. (CJB)
Haiku Response

glad hearts rejoice
in a creator that sustains
the broken hearted
Note: This is the biblical intro: "By David, when he pretended to be insane before Avimelekh, who then drove him away; so he left"
I had to go to the entire Psalm to get a little bit more information for this one!

The Holy Spirit produces a different kind of fruit: unconditional love, joy, peace, patience, kindheartedness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. You won’t find any law opposed to fruit like this.
